Best Slipknot Songs – Top 10

Some call them nu-metal, but the truth is Slipknot is one of the most unique, and original modern metal bands of this era. Their songs are massively popular.

Through the years with subtle changes in their sound, the band has managed to draw in even non-metalheads despite staying brutal and relentless. And if you’re new to Slipknot, here you will find 10 of their best tracks.

Best Slipknot Songs – Top 10

10. “Psychosocial”

The late Joey Jordison makes a pretty brutal mark in this song. The drumming is out of this world. And if you don’t associate Slipknot with blistering solos, this song will give you one along with an evil-sounding riff that will pound your head in.

And on top of that, Corey Taylor’s vocals are icing on the cake. The best part of the song, definitely that catchy chorus.

9. “Vermillion. Pt. 2”

Vermillion Part 2 is a dark love ballad. It sounds immensely sad, and the chorus will haunt you, however, it is very soothing to listen to. Safe to say, it surprised many when this song was released. No one expected to hear this side of Slipknot.

8. “People = Shit”

This song may take quite a few listens to grow on you, however, it’s one of those Slipknot songs that drives the crowd nuts. The song starts with an instrumental section that would fit quite well in a Death Metal song. And when the verse hits, the song turns groovy.

The only thing that resembles nu-metal, apart from the lack of a guitar solo, is the turntable rise when the pre-chorus hits. And the chorus is just plain old crazy Slipknot.

7. “Unsainted”

Off their newer album, the song is well produced with a catchy chorus and a driving guitar riff. The drums and percussions sound like they’re beating the hell out of you as Shawn Crahan a.k.a. Clown makes really good use of his signature beer keg.  And the outro, holy hell, it just makes you ask for more. You will have this song on repeat.

6. “Eyeless”

Brutal but very catchy. Corey Taylor goes from 0 to 100 in a blink of an eye. Jim Root and Mick Thomson with their beautifully crafted guitar tone set the mood. Sid and his turntable, Paul Gray with his bass, and Joey all together just turn it even more chaotic.

5. “Duality”

Can’t get out of bed? Put this on alarm. This song represents the classic Slipknot sound. It has fast pace drumming, hard riffs, and insane vocal delivery. May sound weird but it helps you relax nicely.

4. “Wait and Bleed”

Duality and Wait and Bleed sound very similar yet very different. It’s that classic Slipknot sound. The song is well produced. The guitar tone is right on point. Corey Taylor manages to blow your mind with his insanely quick transitions from maniacal screaming to clean vocals.

3. “The Devil In I”

While their older songs sound very spontaneous, this song has a more controlled approach. It embodies chaos, melody, and angst together beautifully. The band manages to preserve its original sound while adding new layers that represent the contemporary Slipknot sound.

2. “Before I Forget”

Slipknot is a band that has evolved quite much since their first album. And this is one of the songs that show how good they are as musicians. It is melodic yet very heavy, it is brutal, yet very catchy. The song makes you want to tap your feet, bop your head, and sing along with Corey.

When the bridge hits, it becomes very atmospheric, the song takes you to a new dimension. And then so satisfyingly brings you back finding yourself headbanging to the outro.

1. “Snuff”

Leave everything, keep your heart open and let this song sink in. It’s about love. The kind of love where there can never be a happy ending. The kind when life seems so cruel when all you are left with his hurt. It is certainly one of the most moving songs ever written by the band.
